Crew Engagement Meetings
Four times a year all Orion field employees attend Crew Engagement Meetings. These meetings cover safety and health issues, company updates, best practices and other topics. Our employees find great value in these town hall type gatherings.
Short Service Employee Program
All Orion rig hands are required to have at least two years of rig experience. The SSE Program is designed to immerse new employees in Orion’s safety culture. All new employees wear orange hard hats, so tenured Orion employees can keep a watchful eye on them and help them incorporate Orion safety procedures into their workplace habits.
The Infinity Moment
Each “hitch” our crews meet to review near misses and incidents around the industry. The Infinity Moment helps prepare employees for the sometimes hazardous environment they work in by informing them of potential risks and arming them with best practice responses.
Why We Work Safe
A bulletin board is mounted on each rig with the title “Why We Work Safe.” Orion employees are encouraged to post pictures of things that are important to them—family, friends, hobbies, the reasons they work. Our goal is to remind employees that they have much to look forward to outside of work and that their health and safety is essential to providing for those who depend on them and to enjoying a full and happy life.
Infinity Signs
Educational signs are strategically positioned around Orion facilities to inform employees and visitors of various hazards.
Rig Visitor Safety Guide
A pocket-sized guide is provided to visitors and third-party contractors to help acquaint them with Orion Safety Policies.
